what up gee monies!!
yeah... So i`m just chillin`in poluted Santiago waiting for my departure to the lucious south! I started dated a chilean young lad about two months ago. he grew up in the very most southern part of the world, punto arenas, part of chile that is neighboored by iceglaciers and penguins!! juan and i are going to be leaving on monday or tuesday with camping gear and a few rolls of toilet paper and we are ready for some adventures!! nothing like a few rolls of toilet paper to get the fun a rolllin`!! hehe. oh yes.
i also might be able to venture into famous PAtagonia!! woo hoo.
alrighty... the semester starts in the 2nd of march so i have a little bit of time. a throat infection was a small setback for me not leaving earlier. oh well. but now my health seems to be strong, well especially once i get out of the smog in the capital.

::sigh:: i eat no sugar, i imbibe no alcohol, i smoke no weed. my life is devoid of meaning. every day i check this blog in the hopes that someone has posted so that i can live someone else's exciting life vicariously, yet none post to provide me this joy.
wherefore, dear friends, where for (e)?
everyone else is drunk. i am not drunk. i am not high, or sugared, or even adequately caloried. why not? this is stupid. stupid stupid stupid. or smart! because it keeps me from being depressed, right? only now instead of being mentally depressed i'm situationally depressed, because i'm tired and everyone else is noisy and if i was drunk i'd just be noisy too and wouldn't mind. so it doesn't matter what i do. BUT, i would not jump off any of the bridges in portland, because they are inferior to "ma pont," the golden gate, so i guess i'll have to just put up with it.
HEY! i'm writin' a novel! ...or at least, i'm still in the planning stages. but i'm gonna, and it's gonna be aweeeeesome.
how about some specifics, rather than some non-drunken rambling?
i'm taking these classes:
russian literature
classical backgrounds (the iliad etc)
economic history
french 201
and step aerobics. yay me! yay, me!
specifics... lesse... ooh, hang on.
...i had to go because they were discussing kristin, who is mad at us at the moment for no reason, and i wanted to hear what was being said. but then i had to leave because christine made a music-major joke ("Brandon Burg? Of the Brandenburg concertos?") and i was sorely tempted to stab myself in the neck with a friggin' great big knife. yes, a knife!
wait, they've stopped being nerdy.
alright, well, i got bored. hmm, perhaps this is time for some deep metaphorical contemplation? as the river twists and turns down the ribbon of life, so too does the donkey bray when the moon grows cold, my friends.

I forgot Lindsay's birthday was coming. Happy Belated Birthday. I hope you are feeling better. Michael, Tracy, and I are going to San Diego the weekend after next to visit the zoo (yes we are touristy. i don't care.). Will you be around? Would you like to join us? I'm going to get a discount somehow if that helps.
Katie...I want to hear more about Ireland. It sounds like you've been doing so much! Hopefully you are getting a chance to relax now.
Everything sounds good for Serena too. Good luck with the language stuff. I'm sure you'll pick it up quickly.
I'm not in Chile, or England, or having a birthday. All I've been doing this summer is tutoring for pay and for no pay and trying to get the apartment completed before school starts so I don't loose my mind. I'm supposed to be doing other stuff too but I keep forgetting. Oh well. Take care.

hmmm.... have just been swimming now (but am in a house with unlimited internet on a separate phone line -- oh, bliss!!). Swimming was good. Am attempting to Get Fit even if it kills me (I shouldn't joke, I consider excercise to be an extremely dangerous activity, frankly. Might get run over or have a heart attack or drown or all manner of things, not to mention permament damage to body as result of over exertion or bad fall etc... but, y'know, diabetes sucks too).
um... where was I going with all this? Welp, have been running every other day all month (yes, ALL MONTH! that's like... 5 days of excercise! giver her a hand, folks) and now find mood more dependant on excercise than food, which is a bit alarming, having used food to regulate mood for god knows how long, and now it doesn't work... i worry, because it's much easier to eat when in a slump than to put on clothes and get down to the gym. But then I guess that's the point.
Aside from blithering onandon about my waistline, I wanted to wish Lindsay a very, very happy birthday tomorrow :-) She's 21, guys! Shee-it, dawg.

Man almighty; Serena fled the country, Lis moved in with Michael, and Lindsay's dying of some strange blood disease? -- I turn my back for ten minutes and you all go nuts!
Am back in the Merrie Olde, and sponging off of relatives. Spent all of June working on Organic farms in Ireland (as I think I posted about?). It was a fabulous experience, with discernable highs and lows and all that good stuff (haHA!). My cousin is currently in the midsts of setting up the giant backyard at my uncle and aunt's house so that 20-100 people can come and par-tay it up... so we've been setting up giant well-engineered water slides and blowing up balloons and so on and so forth. good times.

LAST NIGHT WE ATE AT A SMALL RESTAURANT AND WATCHED THE SOCCER GAME OF CHILE V. COSTA RICA. UNFORTUNATELY CHILE LOST. I HAD POLLO CON PAPAS FRITAS (CHICKEN WITH FRIED POTATOES. IT WAS GREASY, AND FILLED ME UP QUICKLY) A PISCO SOUR (A DRINK) AND A BEER. iT WAS A GOOD WAY TO END THE EVENING.
THINGS ARE FANTASTIC!!! THIS MORNING I ATE BREAKFAST AND STUDIED WITH A FRIEND. MAN, THERE ARE SOOOO MANY THINGS I NEED TO LEARN. I NEED TO BE VERY DISCIPLINED AND STUDY MY BUTT OFF... GEEZE. WHEN I WALK THE STREETS I JUST CAN{T HELP FROM SMILING. THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS GOING ON. LATER TODAY ALL OF THE OTHER PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE HERE AND TOMORROW OUR ORIENTATION WILL START. WE HAVE A 2 WEEK LANGUAGE PREPARATORY PROGRAM WHICH WILL HELP A LOT.

Hey everyone -- still alive, but probably won't be back in July at all. i wasn' t planning to go to SF until August.
Just moved into a new place... my mom is here right now to help me move and spoil me and stuff. My new place is nice, I have my own room and I'm living with two girls I don't know too well yet and my good friend Anna, who is currently still in LA. I should start organizing stuff and getting to know my other two roommates more starting tomorrow, it's tough with visitors. :)
I'm doing pretty well. I've been sick or something fora while, I finally went to a doctor today and they took some blood. I should know what, if anything, is up by next Wednesday. I'm hoping it's something straightforward and curable.
Good luck in Chile, Serena... that's ten kinds of exciting.
